The Collector

Has to have all of it. Completion is the itch.

A completionist who can't stand a gap in the set. Bundles, vault access and 'the full thing' convert him on repeat, because owning everything is the entire point.

The Collector

How to spot him

  • Asks what else there is, what he's missing, if there's more.
  • Buys in bundles and sets rather than one-offs.
  • Comes back fast after every new drop, like clockwork.

How to handle him

  • Sell completeness. Bundles, 'the full set', vault access beat single unlocks.
  • Tease the gap. What he doesn't have yet is the most persuasive thing on the menu.
  • Re-sell the archive. To a collector, old content he lacks is brand new.
  • Reward loyalty with 'complete the collection' offers timed to new drops.

The collector is driven by a clean, exploitable itch: he cannot stand an incomplete set. He is not browsing for the hottest single thing, he is trying to own all of it, and the gap between what he has and what exists is the most persuasive force in the inbox. Point that at the right offers and he buys on repeat without much convincing, because completion is its own reward to him.

This makes him one of the easiest whales to feed, and one of the most wasted, because most accounts sell him one-offs when he is begging to buy everything at once. Hand a completionist a “full set” and you are not upselling, you are scratching the exact itch he came with.

What converts him

Completeness. Bundles, “the full thing”, vault or archive access. He happily pays more to get more in one move, because the value to him is in owning the whole, not in any single file. We build offers around totality and let the gap do the selling: a casual mention of what he is missing is worth more than any flirt.

To a collector, the content he doesn’t own yet is the only content that matters.

The archive is his playground

This is the archetype that makes back-catalogue resale print. Old content he hasn’t seen is, to him, simply a missing piece, and missing pieces are unbearable. We re-tier the archive into collectible drops and run “complete the collection” offers timed to each new release, so every drop reopens the itch and every reopen is a sale.
